You may remember these that we showed back as a sneak peek in October. And then of course I was slow to getting around to blogging the full set of photos! Fifi is from Australia and a recent grad and contacted us in hopes that 1) we shipped internationally, and 2) We accepted designed files for press.

Lucky for her, we do both and were super excited to print these cards for her. Letterpress printed on 220# Arturo as a 2/1 card, I love the softness of the blushy-pink pantone match paired with the sophisticated black ink/black edge paint.

Sized at 2×3.5″ and printed as an initial set of 250 (our minimum opening order for a set of custom or client submitted files) you can get an estimate for yourself here - we are already booking the press for March and April!

I’m just slightly infatuated with pantone, if you haven’t noticed. And this year the 2012 color of the year is Tangerine Tango! I love how the yellows are being infiltrated by the oranges now.

This was a wedding suite for a November wedding for Preeya. First off, she was SO fabulous to work with and had the most amazing mood board. (See at the bottom).

She was right on the money regarding color trends and the design was so fun to develop with her.

The suite was printed on 110# cotton paper, 2 inks, paired with gravel envelopes and dark gravel ink. Pieces included Invitation, Directions, Details and RSVP cards for the letterpress pieces, and then place cards and menu for digital pieces for the day of events. To price out an invitation suite like Preeya’s head over to the shop and customize your letterpress suite to your heart’s content!

These were another set of proofs for Jennifer and Cristina for their autumn wedding. I love the exploration of the Japanese maple leaves – they remind me of the progression of a leaf as it flutters down, falling from a tree. I also LOVE how when making a full circle, as in the proofs on the bottom, there is a lost and found element within the ring of leaves – do you see it? If so what is it?

Sold in sets of 50, this is a great way to get into a set of calling cards without the investment of meeting the press minimum of 250 cards for a custom print order. Get an estimate here, these are always a big hit for gifts for the holidays and turn around super quick!

While this isn’t where it ended up in the end – the first round explored a western/Victorian theme with imagery and typography. The overprinting would have been so cool on the 4×9 with the sunburst, but alas I can’t wait to show you the finished piece! Until tomorrow….

Here are the final invitations for Jen and Christina. I love how the overlap of the blue and orange create a beautiful olive color on the leaves, this is one of my favorite designs to see printed in different colors because every single suite turns out so differently!

This was the first RSVP where the couple requested music suggestions from guests. I thought it was brilliant, and so fitting for a wedding and RSVP. What a great way to involve guests!

What you might not have noticed from photos alone is that this wedding suite was actually not a standard A7 (5×7″) wedding invitation. To save a little money (which can go a long way for a budget savvy bride) the election to go with a smaller A6 (4.5×6″) invite/announcement can help cut cost in postage and printing. It worked well also because Jen and Chris had minimal information so it didn’t feel like all the elements were squeezed into a tight space.

These were escort cards we printed with the suite paired with a custom diecut pouch. We will be offering these for all escort card orders as well as for direct purchase over the next few weeks if you are a DIY bride (they also look fabulous with square business cards)!

In the end, I was so surprised with how well the color combo worked. It’s such a great aspect to working with a couple that has a defined vision and are confident about it. Printed on 110# lettra paper, paired with matching printed envelopes, this wedding suite is perfect for a fall or spring wedding. Thanks Jen and Chris for being so awesome to work with, best of luck to you both and congratulations on your new adventure!

This card was fun to research and find an appropriate saying to pair with it. In the end I decided that religious or not, we can all agree that its not easy being a saint – especially when there is work to get done, or beds to be made, or children that need feeding. But having the right attitude can sure make a difference in the outcome of any chore or task. Saint or not, what are your dreaded tasks that could use a morning prayer or glass of wine at the end of the day?

This card makes me chuckle. When designing it, I intended to portray the image that good kings are best served when they serve their people. But when it came off press I kept wanting to read it instead of true kings serve their people well but as true kings serve their people hell. Because really; what king hasn’t served hell to some degree on a silver platter throughout history?

I have to say, I LOVE my clients. Anna & Jason were no exception. I’ve been working on their branding, blog design and business cards during the 3rd quarter of 2010 and am finally getting around to blogging about the finished letterpress printed piece. Below are some of the explorations from their branding package regarding logo alternates, business card layouts and condensed exploration of their initials.

Anna & Jason were looking for refined, minimalist and something with a pop of color. Their style was amazing, and designing for them was challenging and rewarding. Every time I felt stumped, we’d have a phone call and get down to business regarding where design was going and what tweaks needed to be made. In the end I’m really proud to say that this is another of my favorites.

Letterpress printed business cards – 2/2. I love how these act as individual cards for both anna & jason – what a great way to individualize on one print run.

Edge painted with matching pantone ink – mixing this color was tricky because the pigment dried darker. I kept having to add white, then water, then white until we got the perfect shade. Can I say I’m totally digging the light orange/peachy color with the grey? It’s a fabulous departure from the yellow/grey trend.

If you have gotten this far and are paying attention!!!! Those above are custom die-cut business card sleeves. We’ll be offering them exclusively as Promo Pouches because they are just wide enough to fit in a business card or two, as well as a little something else like a compliment card, thank you surprise or a couple of offset mini Moo’s showcasing your work in addition to your contact info.

This was a small branding package that we worked with Michelle on for her stationery venture, Chunky Pineapple. She creates awesome gocco cards and needed some outside help with her identity. Sometimes we all get too close to the project, right? That’s where we came in. With her ideas about the brand we came up with some concepts that were in line with the look and feel she was going for. Below are Round I & II proofs as well as the final printed pieces. Enjoy!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!! We sure did, I can’t wait to post about Charlie’s costume – sooo cute :) Anyway – These are perfectly peachy and were featured awhile ago on CardNerd, however I don’t think they ever made it up here on the blog. Pearls & Lace is an online boutique, specialising in designer clothing and accessories. They subscribe to the aesthetic that lies within classic cuts and styles, coupled with quality fabrics and materials.

Anne’s design proofs for Pearls & Lace were super fun to work on – her provided logo was great inspiration for the rest of the layouts, and her branding has translated to her website beautifully. If you are down under and looking for some awesome pearls & lace check them out!
