The Dingbat’s Agenda
  • November28th

If you missed it on twitter this last weekend, we launched a re-design to our online shop! The BEST part is that we have new functionality where you can order custom products online – calling cards, wedding suites and letterpress ready-made goods!

I’m also excited to announce that we are participating in a new post-thanksgiving promotion with a slew of other letterpress printers – it is not Cyber Mnday, but instead Letterpress Tuesday. ENJOY 25% OFF EVERYTHING IN THE SHOP (including custom goods) for 24 hours only, tomorrow TUESDAY 11/29/11. When checking out use code DINGBAT25. Happy Thanksgiving!

These letterpress calligraphy calling cards were done for Krista and we just love how the cobalt ink looked on the hot pink background when photographed. We are excited to announce dropped pricing (more for your buck) for the calligraphy calling card as well as extended options. We’ve also streamlined the process so now, instead of two separate transactions (calling cards and calligraphy), we’ve lumped that together and will do all the work for you. Check out the new calligraphy calling cards in the shop now!

Calligraphy credits go to Kathryn of DellaCarta (option 2),
Lisa Ridgely of Pen & Ink (option 3), and Emilie Friday (option 5).

Sorry to shout from the roof-tops but once again my brain hurts from lack of sleep, many late nights coding and preparing for the day of our own self-hosted online retail outlets of all things Dingbat Press.

Have a look around over at http://shop.dingbatpress.com at the last of 2009′s collection, and over the weekend because we are uploading a TON of new product!

So I was updating my contacts in LinkedIn and found an old friend from college – we had under-division classes together before she transferred. After clicking through to her blog I found this loverly teacup that she made!

By clicking the image you’ll be taken to her Etsy shop – enjoy!

Check out these AWESOME re-purposed clocks made from old china and plates by FaireHoure. All the clocks are one of a kind and great for those looking to start a clock fetish! I’ve never been one to hang dishes on my walls, however these clocks might change my mind. Ranging from $17 – $60 these would be a great house warming, bridal-shower, or holiday gift at a great price! Enjoy.

All product featured by The Dingbat’s Agenda is un-sponsored. No gifts, product or exchanges were made for the feature of these items, I just post them because I like it :)

When I first started printing letterpress notes I offered them in combo sets. I couldn’t unload them at all, people kept requesting them in single pattern sets. They sold off eventually as split orders. It seems the tides have changed yet again and now I’m getting more and more requests for combo sets these days. So without further adeu, I introduce the combo set from the Entomologie line.

They are still available as single boxed sets too, but just thought I’d offer the option again. Enjoy~

I just got some new background paper and couldn’t wait to get these photographed. It took awhile to find the right color for the cards to give it the Dingbat pop of brights! As you can see here, I LOVE designing and printing business cards. There’s something so fulfilling about conveying a person’s needs on a little 2×3.5 card that says Why yes, I eat chocolate in bed! or how about Under my starched shirts are yellow polka-dotted boxers ;) or even I breathe minimalism, so should my card. To every (wo)man, his own I say!

Open Air Photography, Letterpress Business CardsKatie’s Cards reflect just that: Open Air Photography in her case. Fresh, whimsical and open – these cards were fabulous to print (think 600 GSM SUPER THICK Lettra) and Katie was a doll to work with. You can see her initial proofs here, visit her website here, and follow her on Twitter.

Thanks for the opportunity to do your cards, I only wished we lived relatively close, I’d have you photograph my kids in a heartbeat!

So I haven’t given any Etsy love recently, but I came upon Bella Fresca because she had hearted my own shop. SO glad I checked it out. Boy was I surprised when upon clicking through I immediately felt like I was transported to the tropics. Look at her fabulous soaps and then drop her a note wishing her luck as she just opened in June. Breathtaking, I can practically smell them through my monitor! BellaFresca Soaps

Click the image through to her shop or follow her on twitter for more current updates.

Near the final rounds, this design came about because the bride was having a ceremony canopy made out of trees, and evidently birch trees were either part of the landscaping or just one of her favorites exact details are slipping my mind right now. The blind impression turned out so cool on this invite as the shadowing gave a really great letterpressed element to the trees. This design started out quite ornate and then got simpler as we worked on it more. By the time it printed I just couldn’t believe my eyes! There’s so much mystery in it that I love, thanks Kirstin for such a great letterpress project to work on, this is one of my favorites to date.

You are going to love these! Here are some proofs for another set of business cards I did recently for a new Etsy store Enchanted. The client provided the Enchanted logo and her banner/avatar which you can see in her shop as a starting point for inspiration. We explored some simple designs with a dingbat added in as well as incorporating elements from the “E” initial cap. There were some color alternates provided with the final design she chose, but you’ll just have to wait to see the final printed piece until another time to be truly enchanted!
