For those wishing to submit their own files for print work, below are your guidelines to send your files on to us.

For custom letterpress printwork, we request that files be provided print ready with the following specifications.

1. File type. For custom letterpress printing for client supplied files, we require that all ready artwork be submitted in vector format, either as a PDF or as an Adobe Illustrator file (CS5 or below). Please make sure that all fonts are outlined/converted into vectors before submitting.

2.Colors & Layers. Please use only spot or Pantone colors when creating your document. If your document is set in RGB or CMYK, please specify your pantone colors somewhere in the document that you are trying to match. If your card is multiple sided and multiple colors, your colors will have to be on separate layers. Please email color specifications in addition to embedding them in your document.

3. Bleed. For full bleed designs, please also build in at least 1/4″ bleed.

4. Margins. All margins (for non bleed pieces) need at least a 1/4″ from the outside edge to allow for proper trimming. We like to have a 1/16″ allowance for trimming variables and don’t want your live area getting trimmed into.

5. Questions? We are happy to answer them! If you’d rather send us your design file (because the above info is confusing) then we’ll create your press files from your design file for $65 (in addition to your invoice).

6. Proofs. Upon receipt of your files, if they work and follow the above guidelines, we’ll generate a press proof approval for you including registration and crop mark symbols, and specified document dimensions along with our artwork approval contract for your to sign and return back to us. IF your files are not prepared as indicated above, we’ll email you letting you know that we need correct files or offer to output your files ourselves.

7. Changes. Changes re-sent over or requested after we’ve sent your proof approval from your provided files will be billed at $35/round of revisions or $35/press proof which will be added to your invoice. So make sure you are ready for press when you send us your files!!
