Easter Dress - Pom Pom Fascinator

I’ve always loved unique hair fascinators, and without a doubt WhichGoose has to be one of my favorite Etsy sellers. This was a custom order for Evelyn for her Easter dress, and now you can see the whole ensemble.I just can’t get enough of the pom poms.

I still have to sew the jacket but am happy the dress even fit since I spent all last Saturday night sewing it without a pattern! AND, it’s reversable: Thank you Britex Fabric for buying awesome Japanese brocade! Now I’m just kicking myself since I didn’t get enough yardage for a little something pretty for me.

On the left, is purple. To the right is the white reversible.

    This is such a beautiful dress… I am so impressed. I’m hopeless without a pattern to follow, but am inspired by your work so maybe I’ll branch out!

    Greetings! Came across you through the blog party. I do not twitter simply because I’m not sure what it’s all about. I don’t have a blog either, but I do enjoy reading others.

    Natalie,

    The key to non-patterning with sewing is to keep it simple to start with and check your measurements more than once! I like to make little skirts for Evelyn out of fat quarters and then embellish them in different way to “teach” myself new technicques or stitching patterns. Then if I’m successful I take it to a larger project! And I have to be humble neough to be willing to unpick every once in awhile :}

    I am impressed! I can’t even really sew a button on and that dress is just beautiful! Good job! :)
