FaireHoure Re-purp. Clocks

Check out these AWESOME re-purposed clocks made from old china and plates by FaireHoure. All the clocks are one of a kind and great for those looking to start a clock fetish! I’ve never been one to hang dishes on my walls, however these clocks might change my mind. Ranging from $17 – $60 these would be a great house warming, bridal-shower, or holiday gift at a great price! Enjoy.

Pen & Ink Journal

So I have this internet friend. Lisa, from Pen & Ink Calligraphy. Also of the Pen & Ink Journal.

picture-50
Forever ago she ordered some of my Poppy Mini Enclosures and Aster place cards to do some calligraphy samples on, and since then I’ve enjoyed seeing what she can do with my goods. I SO wish I had the talent for a beautiful penned hand, but alas I don’t so I just send her bags of goodies to write on instead!

As I was checking her blog I realized it has been a little while because there was a new look and feel to it:

picture-471

If you click on her image above you’ll be directed to her blog where yes she WRITES her own blog posts. The first thing I thought was “dang. that is one awesome looking handwritten font.” then I thought, “wait, web fonts don’t do that” followed by third “marketing genius” for a calligrapher. What a fabulous way to showcase and practice her work. This is such a different approach and so soft on the eyes vs. reading all the billions of serifed letters.

Way to make it your own Lisa! Go check it out, you might want to do it for yourself it’s just so great!

Plastique

UPDATE : I WON I WON!!!!!! PICS SOON :)

So I don’t generally do this unless I REALLY want it, but here’s to blog promotion at it’s best.

plastique_helvetica1

If you want one of these or would like to check out some lovely acrylic jewelery then look into Plastique for some great finds (more suiting to type nerds like me but there’s a little something mod for everyone). Or you can enter a giveaway for the Helvetica necklace or Kern rings over at The Daily Estian. Here’s to hoping I win so I can have an awesome helvetica tan on my neck as this will be worn every stinking day of the summer if I actually manage to win!

Etsy Finds: Carseat!

Lizzy House, YourCarSeatCover.Etsy.Com

So I’ve been looking for a well made customized carseat cover for each of my kids – never had any luck finding one that didn’t look like a bag – maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Sorry Graco, you just don’t cut it when it comes to designing fabric :(

Red Letter Day, Lizzy House, Carseat Cover, YourCarseatCover.Etsy.com

I did one more search a few weeks back on Etsy to find the new shop YourCarseatCover
and after looking at closeup shots of Heather’s photos I thought I’d give it a try. And I really wanted to be her first buyer! So I ordered some of my new favorite fabric by designer Lizzy House from her new collection Red Letter Day. You can find it here at FreshSqueezedFabrics on Etsy too!

As you can see in the results above, FABULOUS! I was beyond thrilled and will be gushing about Heather and her impeccible sewing skillz forever. I sew a lot so can recognize master craftsmanship when I see it, something I have yet to attain in that arena!

Be sure to check her out because the best part of it all? It was only $45 for a custom cover, headrest, and canopy (not including fabric). Thanks to FreshSqueezed for working with my demanding shipping needs, and to Heather for making this in a record 1 day! The cover came in the mail the day we got home from the hospital!

On the lookout

So I thought it would be easier to find new frames but now I’m feeling hopeless. I guess it goes that when you have an idea about what you want, you inevitably can not find it. I’m super sight challenged and have worn glasses since I was 18 months old for various reasons. Now that I’m going to have another baby, I know my prescription will change yet again as it has with every other pregnancy and I’ll be even blinder than before. After hours of searching, this is what I’ve come up with.

framesI initially wanted some super lemon opaque square frames but alas they don’t exist, not with the chunky sides. So here are some others that have caught my eye. Granted I won’t be buying for another 6 months due to the fact that they don’t recommend getting new lenses until you’ve nursed for at least a few months (I guess your vision can continue to change from pregnancy to delivery to nursing). So if any of you have suggestions PLEASE send them over! There isn’t anything I’m totally over the moon with yet, only time will tell I guess.

While etsy browsing, I found these little dolls that sure caught my fancy!

BeadinBabe: Lucky Clover Hoops

MissRubySue: Get Lucky – Irish fling in green.

MDSparks : Pretty Plant Necklace

Too bad I’ll be looking like a large green tomato on St. Patrick’s this year. I should just dress up as a big pea with a pea pod cap.

Saturday Surprise

Saturday Surprise

With a little Saturday morning window shopping, I came across some of these from the Re-define Your Style section on Etsy.

This clip is super awesome from new seller Apezoppa. This comb makes me glad I’m utilizing pregnancy hormones to grow my hair long again, I just might have to order one for the “hospital bag” since everything else will look hammered after childbirth!

After finding the Ampersand Necklace  from seller CrumpetCake, I realized that I don’t have ONE charm on my bursting charm bracelet that is typographic. For that matter, I don’t think I even bought a charm for when I graduated with my bachelors degree! Shame, shame this might have to get added to the collection as well.

Lastly, I just thought these simple swirl topaz earrings were so cool with the square ear-hooks. Find them here by seller BadCatJewelry who’s got some other awesome stuff as well. The photography alone just makes me drool.
