So the other day I bought Evelyn a little PollyPocket size Strawberry Shortcake doll and didn’t realize until this evening that I have unleashed the girlyness that I thought didn’t exist in the tomboy 2 year old. This Strawberry Shortcake came with an 11 minute DVD that I have now memorized and am often referring to when in conversation with said 2 year old. All I hear about is Strawberry, Plum Pudding, Blueberry Muffin and Orange Blossom (among others).  As I typed this post I found myself humming the obnoxious theme song Strawberry, Strawberry, Straw-berrrr-yyyyyyyyy Short.Cake! in an even more obnoxious teeny-bopper falsetto voice. Bleh. And then I realized that Wednesday is devoted to Orange on Autumn Week with PoppyTalk and thought that I haven’t shown you this orangalicious letterpress announcement that shipped this month. Here’s to girly girls with a hint of orange blossom ink. I love it when baby announcements stray from traditional pink towards something a little more sweet.

These shipped a while back (RI design options here) and I thought it was about time I shared the final printed piece. I love how simple the cards turned out. Very minimalist. I SERIOUSLY love each business card order that comes through my door. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun they are to design. I love working with my clients, and making pretty.cool stuff for them. I’m smiling now, not because I’m a design genius (which I’m not) but because it’s just so much fun. It’s a good thing I like what I do, otherwise working to pay for prescription drugs (legal – mind you) and health insurance, and everything else my little family requires would be sooooo drab – well – everything else in regards that my hubby works for the big stuff like the house payment and I cover the smaller things like the drugs…okay enough about drugs. What I mean to say is insulin, test strips and the sort, because really – what insurance will cover that sort of stuff? And now I’m crossing over into politics. Signing off. Enjoy!

Hey friends! I’m so excited to let you know I’ve been asked to participate in PoppyTalk’s handmade market place. Head over there today to see my table and some of the new goods I’ve got up in the shop and let me know what you think! SOOOOO excited….

All around with cold fall nights setting in on my rural plat of earth, I think of fall and the smell of musty leaves. If you liked these, then you are sure to like what is new! I think my fondest memories of childhood is hearing the crisp brittle and dry aspens blowing in the wind as they are changing from green to yellow then fading to black. Occasionally if it’s an area with a lot of redrock or iron in the soil (think Utah) then the leaves will go red/orange in color before falling off. If only I could be a poet, I would write about autumn in all my pretty prose. Lucky for you I’m not, so without further adeu:

These were round one options from a job that shipped recently. Based off of these, the requirements were minimalist, 1 color and had to incorporate the Haas Business School logo if possible so versions with and without were presented in each design.
