Kwerner Design GIVEAWAY

royalty sneak peak

I’m debuting a new product over at KwernerDesign, so if you want some for FREE, head over and enter!

BACKGROUND: You may have noticed (especially if you originally came from Kristina’s blog in the first place;) that we have a tie that stems WAY back (well not really). We were in the same design BFA at our Alma Mater BYU-Idaho and although she thinks I’m the talented designer I have to say I secretly ennvied her packaging and design skillz myself. Throughout the years I have thought, look at this girl GO! I think she was the reason I started blogging for my business in the first place, I only wish we lived in the same town, I might be bugging her more than she’d like! Thanks Kristina for hosting such a great opportunity!

Mixed Bag letterpress GIVEAWAY!

I’ve been desperately trying to gut my studio and organize this whole summer and have made a large pile of mixed bag stuff. Which I used to think I’d be able to use or sell off, but to be totally honest? It takes too much time to list a card once, never to be listed again. So I’m giving my remnants to you! Almost all are in perfect condition but just didn’t have enough friends to go in a boxed set. There are a few that were trimmed wrong, but since I know there are some creative types out there I’m sure you can trim away to yours heart’s content and re-use them in your own projects.

You have until Midnight MST on Friday to enter. There will be two lucky recipients chosen at random on Saturday. Below is a photo of a small amount of the plethora of what will be going in the bags. You could get recipe cards, gift cards, blank notes, gift tags, beverage tags, and MORE.

mixed-bag letterpress giveaway!

Please excuse the lame photo, I just wanted to get it up for you! To enter: comment below or twit it @DingbatPress (see my link to the side). One comment and one twit per person. A winner will be chosen at random from comments and twitter so get going! Ends Midnight MST on August 28th!

UPDATE: Congrats JODY! I’ll be in contact. For the Twitter winner check out the Twitter feed!

Custom Calligraphy for YOU!

So I’ve had the opportunity to work with Kathryn from Della Carta on these invitations, and she kindly penned my name for me too! She has an amazing hand and I thought it would make for an awesome card as well. If you want some made for yourself, head on over to her shop and then come back to have them letterpress printed!

Real Business: Wendy Torello Final

Internet has been sketchy all week as I’ve been traveling and making connections with buyers ;) – thus blog world has been scarce this week for me so I thought I’d send over some eye candy for the weekend. (yes I’m a slacker, i don’t often get scheduled posts up)

I know you’ve been waiting patiently for these. Here’s the final printed piece from Wendy’s business cards – click to see proofs and brief. Wendy was a doll to work with and I’m really happy with how they turned out. I finally purchased a corner rounder as well and Wendy was the lucky first recipient of the corner rounding option!

Torello Letterpress Business Cards

As I was talking to my mom this week about what orders were coming through the studio, she asked me why I loved business cards so much. As I got thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that I liked the challenge that each client presented to me in trying to represent themselves on a business card. I don’t like to offer cookie-cutter designs for business cards for the fact that I feel that it is more fun to work with my clients to create a unique piece. In turn, they get something that is all their own. My pricing is a little more than some competition and a little less than others but what I think sometimes people miss when they are looking at the bottom line is what they are getting in the package. All orders that come through the studio have the option (and it’s built into the price) to get a custom design for their cards. That’s like free branding on a business card scale to all of my clients! Thanks again Wendy for being such a great customer!

Feeling Sheepish?

I know sometimes I do! These are part of the Animalia collection and I have to say, I was reluctant to get them on press b/c I just wasn’t sure if the design was finished yet. After months of hemming and hawing a large wholesale order of these finally got me on the ball. And now I’m smitten with the little lambs.

Letterpress Sheep 4Bar

Printed 1 color and paired with blossom envelopes. 4Bar set of 6, or you can get them as a combo set with the rest of the clan (I’ll be showcasing them throughout the week).

Have I shown you this one yet?

Lemon Sprinkles Cupcake Tag

So we are blessing Charlie over Labor Day weekend (how appropriate) and I’ve got a serious entertainers itch when it comes to family events and entertaining. Maybe it’s because I live oh, 300 miles away from all of them. Or that the rural-ness that I live in breeds PARTY in me every once in awhile, but I’ve been ah-experimenting. For Charlie’s big day, I’ve been having fun with how I could use some letterpress goods and show you what I was thinking these could be used for when I designed them! (Since every one thinks they are book-marks or something :)

Aspen 2x2 Tags

You’re probably asking me “Where did you get that acid-green cocktail?” To be perfectly honest? Mountain Dew tastes a 110% better in a fluted champagne glass than it ever did in a can! And it matched those aspen tags perfectly. Thank heavens my man keeps it regularly stocked in the refrigerator.

Card of the Month: You Choose

  • TAGS :
  • None

So I’ve been pushing around the concept of a card of the month club for all you letterpress friends that wants goods all year long. I need help in knowing what you would be interested in – if anything at all. Here are some thoughts below so read it through and let me know which one you would like best! Comments appreciated :)

Option 1:
Quote of the month: I’d take a suggestion poll – if you may – the first week of every month, for quote submissions. The following week I’d create a list with top 5 I’m considering. You get to vote, and if you do, you’ll be entered to win an 8×10 print when it’s done. From the poll I’ll take the most popular and create a print out of it. One winner will be drawn from votes to receive a print and the original submitter of the final chosen quote will get a print too! The editions will be done as a run of 25, and will be signed and numbered. #s 3-25 will be available in the shop afterwards for sale.

Option 2:
Recipe Card of the month: This would be a subscription based club where you could buy 3 month, 6 month, or 12 month subscriptions. Each month a poll would be taken as to what you want to see next for recipe cards. A random winner will be selected from the poll to receive a 10 pack of that month’s design. The new design would be created and sent as a 10 pack to all subscribers so by the end of the year you’d have 120 recipe cards if you went for the full 12 months!  Shipping would be free for domestic subscriptions, and designs would be available as limited edition runs so wouldn’t be available in the shop for too long!

Option 3:
Card of the month club: Every month there would be a different theme in which I’d create 3 designs for in a 4Bar card. Themes would be related to birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, congratulations etc. Each month you’d get 3 singles to add to your collection and never have to buy another card at the gas station for your spouses bday again!

Thanks guys!

Custom Quotation

I think this is my new favorite project as of late. Custom letterpress quote 8×10 prints! It’s spiffy to have someone come to me with a quote and then try to graphically portray it for them. This one was from one friend to another and I love how it turned out. I did an edition of 10 that will be available in the shop soon – printed like the image below. There’s also an edition of 5 on black paper (super rad) with a double strike of silver ink for stars and quote.

Evening Sky Print

Printed on Arches 140# paper, 2 colors – silver & lavender

If I could hold a star for every time you’ve made me smile,
and entire evening’s sky would be in the palm of my hand.
