You are going to love these! Here are some proofs for another set of business cards I did recently for a new Etsy store Enchanted. The client provided the Enchanted logo and her banner/avatar which you can see in her shop as a starting point for inspiration. We explored some simple designs with a dingbat added in as well as incorporating elements from the “E” initial cap. There were some color alternates provided with the final design she chose, but you’ll just have to wait to see the final printed piece until another time to be truly enchanted! So I LOVE to check out TasteSpotting over the weekends to try to meal plan for the following week but it seems that I always get sidetracked with desserts instead. Enter Pancake Cupcakes – this one seemed too easy to just pass by, originally posted by The Simple Me. So we just had to make it with the kids on Monday to try it out, and they were delicious little nuggets of goodness! We put Hershey’s kisses an jam inside (not together) and it became a pancake surprise with powdered sugar on top.

Pancake Cupcake Treasure with Powdered Sugar

The only adjustment I made to the recipe was that we made them in a mini-cupcake tin and baked for 15 minutes instead of 20. This will be one of our new staples at home I think, how good would these be topped with whipped cream and strawberries on the side for brunch?

Happy Monday! This will be short and sweet b/c I’ve got lots of proofs going out today and baby Dr. appts. to get to but just thought I’d share:

Father's Day Personalized Letterpress Vintage Plane

I did these for my grandfather awhile ago and decided it would be a great way to customize for a budget friendly Father’s Day gift. They are available in the shop now as a 4Bar folded note/set of 25. All orders placed by June 15th will be shipped priority just in time for Dad of Grandpa and I’ll gift wrap and ship direct at no extra charge if you put in the message to seller where you want it to go. Great for all those war veterans out there, this vintage plane will knock anyone’s socks off!

So being housebound after baby kind of takes it’s toll on one’s mental stability with 3 kids. With that being said, I’m going to make these

    Breena Graduation Announcements A6

Since high school graduations are happening across the country today I thought I’d show these before I let the weekend take over. These shipped out this last week and are available here for purchase if you still need to get some out. Customizable with your wording, ink and envelope colors.

Whether it’s college, high school or pre-school, graduation almost always signifies the end of one era and the beginning of another for those involved. For all of you moving on in 2009, congratulations to a job well done! This summer marks my own 10th year high school reunion, which seems so long ago, yet also feels like yesterday. I admit, I am still a baby with much to learn. Here’s to the next 10 years – I wonder what will be in store, and where life will take me. To humor you all…Here are the first and last pictures I’ll ever post of myself so chuckle away!

From left to right: Senior Photo: age 16. Graduation: age 17. College, BFA Graphic Design: Age 22. Graduating from brunette to blonde (and back): Age 25. Current age? You do the math :)

With summer barely getting under way here, it’s hard for me to start imagining autumn and the impending snow it will bring for the following 7 months. For brides planning weddings for that season though, I have to admit I have a special attachment to fall weddings. Our 9th anniversary is on October 20th, and aspen leaves were a dominant theme in our big event. We had about 25-30 aspen trees put in the reception hall and they were lit like an enchanted forest with white Christmas lights (imagine the forest of gold from the 12 Dancing Princesses – that’s what our reception looked like).

    Aspen Leaves Tags, Letterpress

As I’m expanding my wedding line I’m taking designs that have worked for my clients in numerous variations and have adapted them into their own collections. If you remember the blossom invitations I’ve done in the past here and here, then you’ll be excited to learn that I’ve adapted it into a Seasons collection. Below is the Aspen Suite, and as a little sample of what it’s potential could be I’ve printed some Aspen tags measuring 2×6″ that are now available here. Enjoy!

    Lizzy House, YourCarSeatCover.Etsy.Com

So I’ve been looking for a well made customized carseat cover for each of my kids – never had any luck finding one that didn’t look like a bag – maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Sorry Graco, you just don’t cut it when it comes to designing fabric :(

Red Letter Day, Lizzy House, Carseat Cover, YourCarseatCover.Etsy.com

I did one more search a few weeks back on Etsy to find the new shop YourCarseatCover
and after looking at closeup shots of Heather’s photos I thought I’d give it a try. And I really wanted to be her first buyer! So I ordered some of my new favorite fabric by designer Lizzy House from her new collection Red Letter Day. You can find it here at FreshSqueezedFabrics on Etsy too!

As you can see in the results above, FABULOUS! I was beyond thrilled and will be gushing about Heather and her impeccible sewing skillz forever. I sew a lot so can recognize master craftsmanship when I see it, something I have yet to attain in that arena!

Be sure to check her out because the best part of it all? It was only $45 for a custom cover, headrest, and canopy (not including fabric). Thanks to FreshSqueezed for working with my demanding shipping needs, and to Heather for making this in a record 1 day! The cover came in the mail the day we got home from the hospital!

Announcing our new little peanut: Baby Charlie.

    Letterpress Baby Boy Announcements A6

New life is just so amazing! I know in a blogging world the word blessing can become quite cliche. However, sometimes there isn’t any other way to really describe it. For those of you that didn’t know or are relatively new to my blog, we’ve had quite a few life changing events in the last 9 months. The pregnancy was planned and that was about the only thing we expected from the get-go.

From the beginning I was severely ill and on bed-rest regularly (unexpected). After losing 18 lbs and turning into a waif by about 20 weeks, we had some “family catastrophies” as one may call it. My young and totally fit mother had a hemorrghic (sp?) stroke and 12 hours later our son David was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes with Ketone Acidosis. I didn’t know if at the end of the week I’d be planning two funerals or moving on to the next phase of recovery. All happening right before Christmas, I felt my life was falling apart. I can honestly admit now that a pregnancy/new baby was the last thing I wanted to add to my plate. With a whole new set of things to deal with, my husband held my hand and we learned to give injections, check blood sugar, count carbs, live off of no sleep, comfort a 4 year old with new challenges and manage a growing belly and 2 year old sister too.

As I mentally tried to prepare myself for the remainder of my pregnancy I often felt overwhelmed that this child might not get the attention and love he deserves or needs with two other children around the house. Little did I know that Baby Charlie was one of the greatest blessings I could have asked for. His impending arrival gave something to look forward to, to help us move past Diabetes and the stroke. We started to live again knowing there would be a new little spirit in our home that needed nourishing. Since the minute Charlie has arrived we can’t stop loving him and the prospect that he’s the perfect addition to our family. I really can say he’s the perfect baby and we are so happy to have him here!
